You sound like the narrator from ‘The Stanley Parable’.
I’m not sure I want to go through for fear of what may be lurking on the other side.
There’s nothing lurking through there. All that’s on the other side is Three Cornered Stanley, and he’s waiting for you with open arms.
Then why isn’t there a photo of Three Cornered Stanley. And also, when you think about it, what is a Three Cornered Stanley?
There was a question mark missing from that previous post so I am going to ? needlessly throw it into a sentence here for good measure.
If he has a corner for all occasions, are there only three occasions? If so, what are they, and what are all the other things that happen?
There are indeed only three occasions, which are:
1. Socialising
2. Warfare
3. Other
What happens if you’re throwing a party of angry people who don’t like each other, which occasion is it then?
Sounds like socialising, which might develop into warfare. If you’re uncertain just pick “other”.
This is 2019, I don’t have time for this. I need to smush everything together to make it shorter and easier to understand.
Can we bring it down to two occasions, Socialfare and Other? Or Socialwar, that sounds nice.
No. You can’t just go messing about with how many occasions there are. For one thing, it isn’t your decision to make, and for another thing, Stanley has three corners. One corner would be redundant in your plan. You haven’t thought this through.
I wanted to disagree with the three occasions and offer an alternative three, but I’ve tried and I think you hit the nail on the correct part first go.
What about:
1. Stuff
2. THINGS!
3. Miscellaneous
No. Kev understands that you can’t just mess about with the three occasions. Why can’t you be the same and just accept things the way they are? Socialising, warfare, other. It’s very simple. Learn to live with it, or Three Cornered Stanley might not let you into his garden at all.
I refuse to conform like everyone else. I like to have a choice and I choose my silly alternatives rather than the norm. You take your norm and shove it up your Three Cornered Stanley.
I’m not shoving anything up Three Cornered Stanley. That would be a warfare occasion, without a doubt, and I don’t want him to have to deploy that corner.
I knew something was amiss. I’m going to run far FAR far away and he’ll never find me. Whatever he is.
Good luck to him (?) and his (?) corners.
Suit yourself. Three Cornered Stanley says please can you make sure the gate is back on the latch before you leg it. He doesn’t want next door’s cat getting into his garden again.
