Quite nice
September 4th, 2008
I’m not in the mood for something big, brash and showy. I don’t want to be depressed – not at all – but I can’t face anything too brilliant right now. So I asked Google for something “quite nice”.
This is a beach that the photographer thought was “quite nice”.
This sheep is also “quite nice”.
They made me think of things in my life that are also quite nice, and having thought about it, my cheese grater is quite nice. It’s not in any way interesting or worth talking about, but it does the job adequately and causes me no complaints. Quite nice.
I hope this post has brought you a couple of things that are good, but not to the extent that they cause any undue excitement or interest. They are just quite nice.

I always find Cheddar cheese quite nice. Not interesting enough to be over appreciated but nice none the less.

Yes, Cheddar cheese is really quite nice, but you wouldn’t want to go beyond that level of mild praise.
I think the keyboard I’m now typing on is quite nice, if I’m pushed to make any sort of comment on it, though it’s not sufficiently nice that I would pay money for it without considering other options.

You know what else is quite nice? Sweaters. A red, perhaps quite well-worn but loyal sweater, with those sleeves that cling to you in the right places, the right colour, the right level of elasticity.
Not that I own one of course.

Yes, that’s quite nice. I think whiteboards are quite nice too, not overpowering in their brilliance, just fairly good in an understated and not-worth-mentioning way.

We have a whiteboard at work. We write things on it. Heh heh, I was so clever last month, heh heh, because it was August and I decided to call the board the SM-August Board. Heh heh. Isn’t that the funniest thing anyone has ever come up with ever?!?!

I get that now. I didn’t at the time.

I am taking my prozac again, so everything is quite nice. Everything. Am not unhappy with anybody.

You know I never take any notice of anything work-related.

I think Auds’ lack of attention is somewhat less than quite nice.

What the deuce? Is someone pretending to be someone else again? Like that time the woman said she was from some company in Glasgow and asked me to apply for a job but didn’t give a return address?
I smell something

This is like that bit in Fight Club when Jack and Tyler are talking about all the different ones being set up around the country.
Did you set up that one?
No I thought that was you.
Crazy times…
