Cake or Bun?

August 20th, 2007

I wonder if you out there in the virtual haven of The Beans can help me answer a question which I have been pondering for a while?

Which is better a slice of cake or a whole bun?

The two things are generally evenly(ish) sized. On one hand you get the satisfaction of knowing you have eaten the whole of something but on the other hand you get to share in the joy with someone else. Which is better…. You decide…

Personally I prefer a bun. While cake has many delights, I like having a self-contained item, and one which is generally much easier to eat without crockery or cutlery.

There is a trade-off however in the convenience/variety ratio. All the same, I vote BUN.

    Slicey slice of cake!

I’m fat, right, so with me being fat, right, all I wanna do is eat.

‘Cos you know everyone is fat, right, just wherever you look there’s fat people. I’ve joined in with the fat, yeah, just for hte cake though. Once the cakes gone I’ll be back on the right side.

    *looks* EVERYONES FAT!

    HTE cakes?

    Ham, Turnip and Evian cakes?

They may go down well with the health fanatics but I’m not a fan myself.

Marshall, don’t be silly, of course by HTE meant Horrible Turkey Ear cakes.

They’re a big thing down in YORK-SHIRE at the moment. It’s probably because everyone wants to contract foot and mouth because they can’t be bothered to go to work. I know a few people in my office who are trying to get them imported.

Ah yes, much chewier and more satisfying than the old ham/turnip/evian combo.

I always liked the Hairy Turtle Egg Cakes myself, very enjoyable on a hot summers afternoon.

We should start the ‘Pouring Beans’ cakes recipe page/book. Along with our previous best seller, ‘Erudite Musings…’ I believe the beans will be the hottest shit since sliced bread.
